When your younger all you can think about is your future and wants. Point of view is approached throughout these lyrics because it shows how age can affect the why you think of things. Earlier in the text it says,”Oh darling, don’t you ever grow up, Don’t you ever grow up, just stay this little.” (Stanza 2) Later in the text it says,”Oh I don’t wanna grow up, wish I’d never grown up, I could still be little.”(Last stanza) Growing up happens so quickly without you knowing it. It exclaims as if she is talking to her younger self. As the end approaches, she finishes explaining how she wish she had never grown up. In her song, Swift starts off by telling someone to never grow up. She shows the big difference from now and then through her childhood memories. She describes her memories as a child and uses them to compare them to her life in present day. In her song Taylor swift shows this message using literary devices such as Juxtoposition and Flashback. As kids we often want to be older and more independent, when that day comes and we receive it, we wish we could go back in time. When we are little life was as simple as black and white. Throughout time as humans we often wish we could go back in time and experience the good memories again. In her song, “Never Grow Up” Taylor swift conveys the theme that, time is inevitable, childhood creates memories that last a lifetime, as growing up is challenging but a part of time that can be cherished in our hearts forever. It shows the transformation from someone’s perspective and the realization that someday, the years will pass and you will no longer be as young as you were. In the song, “Never grow up” by Taylor Swift, the gentle beat conveys the small perfections of youth. The knowledge within us doses in larger amounts as the responsibility to face the worlds standards are set high. After coming years of age life’s complexity beings to grow and obstacles are soon to be faced. As children life is simple as we learn and develop. Weather you decide to walk one one path or another it holds your fate and destiny of who you are to become. The strollers begin to disappear, we begin to balance on our own two legs and learn to walk.
